Projects

Molecular Communication and Protocols (Current) | SyNRG, UIUC

  • Build a table-top testbed using NaCl solution and electrical conductivity reader that sends information through the concentration of NaCl;
  • Propose a decoder for On-Off Keying (OOK) that addresses two molecular channel challenges, i.e. non-causal channel and short coherent time;
  • Propose a multiple access scheme based on CDMA for better scalability, throughput and fairness in a multi-Tx single-Rx network, which addresses three molecular channel challenges, i.e. non-negative signal, lack of synchronization and high inter-symbol interference (ISI).

MAC Protocols for mmWave Networks | SyNRG, UIUC

  • Design a MAC protocal which employs spacial sharing and allows multiple links to communicate at the same time without interfering;
  • Simulate a mmWave WLAN network running the protocol in NS-3;
  • Deploy a testbed with commercial mmWave equipments.

Passive Eavesdropper Detection | SyNRG, UIUC

  • Separate eavesdropper leakage from normal packets;
  • Build a test bed with USRP as detector and USRP/Wi-Fi cards as eavesdropper.

Driving Simulator with Virtual Reality | USTC

  • Design a driving simulator for virtual reality equipment.

Wireless Communication via Visible Light | USTC

  • Build a short-distance wireless communication system on STM32 with LED;
  • Deliver both audio signals and digital files.
